Paris, Tenn.–Effective today, The W.G. Rhea Library Bookstore will be closed indefinitely. At the same time, all events and classes at the library, as well as use of the library meeting room are cancelled until at least April 1.
Bookstore Manager Darcy Louer said in a statement, “The health of our friends, fellow members of Henry County and the state of Tennessee is of utmost importance to us. Keeping this in mind, the Bookstore will be closed as of today March 18, 2020. We are unaware for how long at this time. Due to the majority of our friends and volunteers being of the 60+ category, we felt it would be unsafe to keep it open due to the likelihood of the COVID-19 virus being spread if it were to have been in our store or on our books. When this changes, I will make sure to let everyone know as soon as possible.”
Louer noted, “For those of you with computers, tablets and ereaders, the library has ebooks available for FREE. Go to their website and click on the “databases” tab. Make sure to have your library card handy.”
