McKenzie, Tenn.–A home in McKenzie was heavily damaged in a fire Monday afternoon but firefighters say all occupants escaped safely.
McKenzie Fire and Rescue was dispatched at 5:23 p.m. to 54 Newsome St. Firefighters said the one-story frame house was heavily engulfed in flames when the first units arrived. All the occupants had escaped before firefighters arrived.
The cause of the fire was not announced.
