Paris, Tenn.–Two young men were arrested on a long list of charges including evading arrest, reckless endangerment and possession of crystal meth, marijuana, and narcotics after a traffic stop on Country Club Road Tuesday afternoon. A three-year-old child who was in the car at the time of the arrest was released to family members.

Arrested were Ryan Thompson, age 28, of Crutchfield Lane, Paris; and Shane Paschall, age 22, Greenbriar.

Thompson was charged with reckless endangerment, two counts of simple possession, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful drug paraphernalia, driving without a valid license; leaving the scene of an accident, and violation of probation.

Paschall was charged with evading arrest, possession of meth, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, and contempt of court and probation violation.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s report, Deputy Jimmy Cole ran the Kentucky registration on the vehicle and found it had expired in May of 2019. He attempted to stop the vehicle, but it did not immediately stop. The vehicle finally did stop and Paschall, the front seat passenger, attempted to flee on foot. Thompson was the driver and was detained by deputies.

Cpl. Dalton Watson arrived with his K9 Jagr. Thompson gave consent to search and Jagr gave a positive alert on the front passenger side door. Inside of the vehicle, he and Sgt. Jim Sanders located a purple Crown Royal bag containing 51 grams of marijuana, 15 Clonazepam pills, three amphetamine pills, digital scales and baggies.

Another baggie containing crystal meth was laying on the ground near the front passenger side. Three Oxycodone pills were found laying in the front driver’s seat floorboard.

According to the report, Thompson claimed ownership of the Oxycodone pills and marijuanan found in his front pants pocket. Paschall claimed ownership of the purple bag.

The crystal meth and marijuana field tested positive. Paschall also had $218 in cash and Thompson had $166 in cash.

A three-year-old who was the son of one of the suspects was in the back seat and a family member arrived on the scene to take the boy. Both men were told their property was being seized.
