First-Ever Catfish Clash Draws Crowd To Downtown Paris

ff-boxing

Paris, Tenn.–A new event for the World’s Biggest Fish Fry was a definite success, as the first-ever Catfish Clash drew a crowd. The event was held on Poplar Street with the picturesque Henry County Courthouse and the historic downtown buildings as backdrops. The Catfish Clash featured sixteen bouts. Fourteen gyms traveled from more than five states to attend, the farthest was from Oklahoma. Many of the clubs stayed for several days and had plans of fishing at Kentucky Lake while they were here. Miranda Moon said the Paris Downtown Boxing gym was fortunate to have four of their own fight in the show. “We also welcomed retired professional boxer, WBA Heavyweight Champion, James “BoneCrusher” Smith. He was there to sign the prizes for our winners and also autograph items and take pictures with the crowd. We look forward to boxing being part of Fish Fry for many years to come.” The show was free to the community. In photo, the Paris Downtown Boxing gym sets up the boxing ring. Shannon McFarlin photo.
