PARIS, Tenn. – The Historic Atkins-Porter Neighborhood is getting a spring refresh with a weekend of community pride, sustainability, and beautification during the upcoming Atkins-Porter Neighborhood Cleanup & Cleanout on Saturday, April 12.
Neighborhood Cleanup: 9 AM – 11 AM
Residents and volunteers are invited to take part in a community-wide effort to pick up litter and enhance the appearance of the neighborhood. Dumpster Buggies will be located in the upper parking lot of the AP Rec Center for use beginning that morning.
Curbside Swap: Begins at 9 AM
At the same time, residents of the Atkins-Porter Neighborhood are encouraged to place usable items—such as furniture, home goods, and décor—on the curb for others to take throughout the weekend. This free, community-wide exchange helps reduce waste and give new life to unwanted items.
Remaining items on the curb will be collected by sanitation crews on Monday, April 14.
The event is a collaboration between the Historic Atkins-Porter Neighborhood Association, Preserve Paris, and the City of Paris Stormwater Management.
“I believe this event presents a fantastic opportunity to revitalize a community initiative I’ve been eager to bring back. I’m confident it will be well-received by the community and could inspire other areas to host similar cleanup efforts,” said Community Development Director Jessica Crouch.
