Paris, Tenn.–Even with the tornado warnings and having to seek shelter in the Paris Convention Center Saturday night, First Baptist Church in Paris still raised $28,301 for the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction. On Monday morning they’ll resume with a handful of slates that still remain.

First Baptist Church Night at Helping Hand was interrupted by the tornado warnings and severe storms. Volunteers sought shelter in the hallway and bathrooms last night.

With last night’s receipts, the year-to-date total now is at $320,614. There were two auctions, one in the afternoon and the other in the evening. Jamie Orr was auctioneer.

Monday’s items will be donated by Future Farmers of America, Young Farmers and Ranchers, 4-H Clubs of Henry County and HCHS No Fly Zone.

Tuesday: Paris city employees, Paris Board of Public Utilities, Project Help, and the Como community.

Wednesday: Van Dyke/Routon communities and Spring Hill Baptist Church.

The auction continues through February 26. You can listen and/or watch on the Henry County Helping Hand website and on our radio station WHNY 104.7FM/AM 1000. Auction phone is 731 644 1695.
