Paris, Tenn.–The all-night rainfall in Henry County measured some 3.43 inches and Emergency Management Director Ron Watkins said there will be another round of heavy rain beginning this afternoon and into the night.
Watkins said the storms will begin around 5 p.m. and last until around 8 p.m.
People need to continue to use caution, he said. “We’ll probably be flooding again with the high saturation and we can expect another three inches of rain.”
Meanwhile, according to Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey the following roads are closed:
Clifty Rd between 4630 and 4709 is closed due to the road being washed out.
Gate 3 Road between Hwy 54 and Palestine Road is closed due to flooding.
Palestine Rd between Hwy 218 and Hill Rd is closed due to flooding.
And in the city of Paris, flooding is causing problems in the low areas of town. As of this morning, they had closed North Poplar between Greer St. and Guthrie Rd. They’ve also closed Lone Oak Road between Hamlin and Winding Way.
Additionally, please note that Fairgrounds Rd, just outside the city limits, has water over the road. PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION in these areas.
