The TVA system was put to the test today with record-breaking electricity demand. Thanks to winter preparations at our plants, a dedicated team of employees working around the clock, crews at local power companies, and your conservation efforts, the grid remains secure and reliable.
TVA officials said, “Where did all that energy come from? A diverse mix of generation sources, a dedicated team, a strong partnership with your local power company, and YOU! Working together, we made history!”
In order to maintain a continued supply of power to essential services and to avoid possible interruptions of service, TVA on Wednesday asked that all electric power consumers VOLUNTARILY reduce their use of electricity as much as possible beginning January 21, 2025 at 1 p.m.
TVA and Paris Board of Public Utilities are working around the clock to make power available to consumers. Prior to this public request, both entities had turned off all non-essential load within our facilities.
