
Gerald James Edgman age 73 of Paris, TN died Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN
Jerry retired from ANR Pipeline in Cottage Grove, TN, where his coworkers knew him as “Tennessee.” He enjoyed spending time on his farm, working his cattle, and duck hunting. His friends in the community knew him as “Edgy.” He loved supporting his granddaughters by attending as many of their activities as he could. Jerry was a member of the Como Church of Christ, and a former member of the Henry County Fair Board.
Born February 19, 1951, in Leon, Iowa, he was the son of the late Gordon Dale Edgman, and the late Glendoris Owens Edgman.
He was married March 16, 1974, to Janice Blackwood Edgman, who survives of Paris, TN.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, he is also survived by his two daughters, Carrie (Mark) Dicus, and Rebecca Alexander, both of Paris, TN; three granddaughters, Avery Dicus, Rylee Kate Alexander, and Emilee Alexander; two sisters, Judy Steele of Paris, TN, and Jeanne Kendall of Collierville, TN; several nieces and nephews, a brother in law, Gary (Connie) Blackwood of Lexington, TN; and his mother in law, Marjorie Blackwood of Paris, TN.
Along with his parents, Jerry was also preceded in death by two brothers in law, Paul Steele, and Fred Kendall.
Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242 will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Friday, January 24, 2025, from 4:00 until 7:00 pm and continue Saturday, January 25, 2025, after 11:00 am until the time of the service. His funeral service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with John Dale and Chris Buford officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ken Steele, Ryan Kendall, Wes Blackwood, Ryan Blackwood, Andy Collins, Cam Collins, Roger Clendenin, and Jay Taylor. Lonnie Touchstone, Byron Pruitt, Jack Sparks, Jr., Burton Vick, Darren Webb, Tommy Swor, and the men of Como Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Burial will follow the service in the Olive Branch Cemetery.
