Paris, Tenn.–Saturday’s annual Cast-N-Blast event for the Carl Perkins Center was another success, with over $24,000 raised for the program.
Director Carly Wheat noted it was the event’s 8th year and 39 boats were registered and two turkey teams brought in three birds.
The Kids Fishing Rodeo with prizes by TWRA and the Touch a Truck were other fun activities. The event was held at Paris Landing State Park and the Perry’s BBQ food truck was on hand.
“It was a beautiful day to raise over $24,000 for our Center and Child Abuse Prevention Services,” Wheat said. “The day started at 4:15 am and ended at 4 pm with a lot of good prizes! The hard work by sponsors, staff, and volunteers all made for an incredible day. Most of these fishermen have fished every year we have held the event and each year we add a few new faces. It’s always mind-blowing to see such a great turn out and fellowship with all involved throughout the years! Here’s to next year!”
