Union City, Tenn.–Los alumnos de La Escuela Secundaria de Union City impresionaron a los jurados y a su competición durante el Dia de Los Idiomas Extranjeros de UT Martin.
Or, in simple English, Union City High School Spanish students impressed judges and their competition at UT Martin’s Modern Foreign Language Arts Day.
Twenty students from the Spanish I and II classes of Julie Ward and Jodi Powell claimed several awards in various categories. Around 75 students from four West Tennessee High Schools were part of the competition. It marked Union City’s second year to compete.
Grammar and culture were the focus of all categories.
Two teams and a handful of individuals from UCHS placed in the Top 3 in the competition.

3rd place Team: Ka’ Jaylon Bell, Trent Craddock, James Nielsen, Jasmine Potts
“Obviously, I’m very proud of them,” said Ward, who is teaching Spanish for the third year at UCHS. “They worked hard, they were and remain enthusiastic about learning, and they were good representatives of our school.”
