Harlon Burton “Bo” Smith, Sr.

Harlon Burton “Bo” Smith, Sr., age 89  of Henry, died Monday, April 15, 2024, at his residence.

Born Thursday, March 28, 1935, in Henry, he was the son of the late Issac Smith and Vunie Baker Smith.

Bo retired from Champion Mobile Homes where he worked many years as a cabinet maker. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Bo enjoyed woodworking, yardwork, and riding four wheelers. He served in the Army National Guard.

He married Barbara Smith Tuesday, March 31, 1998, who preceded him in death Thursday, February 28, 2008.

Along with his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter: Donna Smith; three sisters: Madge Jackson, Jean Snyder Hart, and Fredda Anderson; and three brothers: Carter Smith, Tommy Smith, and Elroy Smith.

Survivors include four children: Debra Snow, of Paris, Harlon “Hal” Smith. Jr., of Puryear; Dawn Kirk, of Paris, and Duane “Bojack” Smith, of Henry; a sister: Glenda James, of Paris; five grandchildren: Breanna Wilson, Lee Jones, Hunter Wade, Heather Roberts, and Charlie Smith; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tennessee, 38242, will be handling the arrangements.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

His graveside service and burial will be in the Henry Cemetery in Henry, Tennessee, Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with Bobby Campbell officiating.

Serving as pallbearers for the service will be Tony Willoughby, Danny Sanders, Lee Jones, Elijah Wellington, Duane Smith, Harlon “Hal” Smith, Jr., and Hunter Wade.
