
Neal Whitford, 69, of Dover, Tennessee, went to be in the presence of The Lord, Tuesday evening, January 2, 2024, after a lengthy illness. He left this world lying beside his loving wife: Mitzi, listening to his favorite Southern Gospel music. Neal was greatly loved by his devoted daughter: Misty; son-in-law: Brian; and grandson: Brayden. They stayed close by his side the last days of his life to do whatever was needed during his illness and always.
Neal was born in Stewart County, Tennessee, Saturday, April 17, 1954, to Ted and Margie Whitford.
Neal was a member and ordained deacon of Big Rock Baptist Church, Big Rock, Tennessee. Although he had not been able to attend for some time, he continued to support and love his church family. He watched services online and was thankful for his friends and pastor, Bro. David Whitehead who was faithful to visit and willing to help however he could.
In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his sister: Rhonda Whitford Black; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who he grew up with and loved so dearly.
He was predeceased by his parents, maternal grandparents: Linto and Earlene Wallace; paternal grandparents: Luther and Clara Gafford Whitford; dear sister: Sandra Whitford Baker and brother: Dale Whitford.
A visitation will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Anglin Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. David Whitehead and Bro. William Gray officiating.
Burial will follow at Barnett Cemetery, Big Rock, Tennessee.
Those serving as pallbearers are: Ricky Wallace, Brian Harris, Mikey Wallace, Marty Wallace, Gary Wallace, Steve Taylor and Sam Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be: Rick Joiner and Jimmy Harris.
