Paris, Tenn.–Vickey Roberts rushes to give out awards to the winners at the opening of the Festival of Trees Tuesday morning at the Old 5 & 10 Store in downtown Paris. Roberts is co-owner of the 5&10, as well as a city commissioner and member of the Festival of Trees Committee. A large crowd was on hand for the opening. This year’s winners are: Most Creative 1. Brother Home Furnishings, 2. Paris BPU; Most Traditional 1. Mockingbird Catering, 2. City of Paris; Best of Show 1. The Flower Station, 2. Security Bank; Best Theme 1. Joe Mahan Ford, 2. Foundation Bank; Best Out of the Box 1. Dr. Jeff Morris and staff; 2. Four Seasons; Best Tiny Tree 1. Klopfenstein Farms and 2. Paris Police. Festival of Trees is open from Monday through Friday from noon to 3 p.m.; Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free, but donations go toward the Downtown Paris Association, Votes for People’s Choice are $1.
