Paris, Tenn.–The Tennessee River Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation gathered Monday to deliver 65 Thanksgiving boxes to local families in need. Each box contains a turkey, bacon and sausage, rolls, green beans, potatoes, stuffing, yams, mac and cheese, cranberry sauce and dessert. Organizer Natalie Hickman said the group works with the Family Resource Center, the Carl Perkins Center, churches and community members to make the list of families. They work with Lakeway IGA and Store Manager Jeremy Lindsay each year to make it happen. The group gathered at Lakeway’s loading dock area and loaded the groceries and boxes into individual members’ trucks and vans for delivery. (Shannon McFarlin photo).
