Johnnie Ray Singleton

Johnnie Ray Singleton, 62, of Puryear, Tennessee, died Sunday, November 19, 2023, at his residence.

Johnnie was born Monday, June 19, 1961, in Henry County, Tennessee, to the late Chester Lee Singleton and the late Elwanda Sue Grainger Singleton.

He worked in construction for Servall Restoration in Paris.  

Prior to Servall, he was self-employed with Singleton’s Flooring for over 30 years, and never missed a day of work in his life.  

Johnnie loved Bingo and also riding his Harley Davidsons whenever he got the chance.  

He loved cooking, enjoyed fishing, and teaching the grandchildren to drive manual cars, fish, and cook from scratch.  

He absolutely adored spending time with his family.

He is survived by three sons: Johnnie Singleton, Jr., of Puryear, Tennessee, Joshua (Danielle) Singleton, of Springville, Tennessee, and Dylan Singleton & fiancée Macy Flowers, of Paris, Tennessee; Dylan’s mother: Tina Buie, also of Paris; one sister: Cindy Cherry, of Paris, Tennessee; one brother: Lonnie (Rita Walker) Singelton, of Colorado; and three grandchildren: Garrett Singleton, Billy Singleton, and Laylyn “Sister” Singleton.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife: Donna Kay Knox; one brother: Barry Singleton; and one brother-in-law: Keith Cherry.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Brian Wimberley officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Johnnie Singleton, Jr., Tyler Roberts, Sebastian Black, Colt Stallings, John Eason, Dustin Cherry, and Barry Singleton, Jr.  Named as an honorary pallbearer is: Charlie Lee.

Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Springville, Tennessee.
