Huntingdon, Tenn.–Lee Rocker, the legendary upright bassist and founding member of the iconic rockabilly band, The Stray Cats, will bring his high-energy performance to The Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center on May 3, 2025, at 7:30 PM. Known for his electrifying stage presence and Grammy-nominated career, Rocker will deliver a night filled with classic hits, untold stories, and jaw-dropping musicianship that has made him a global rock sensation.

Rocker made his mark as a member of The Stray Cats, the Grammy-nominated band that sold over 10 million albums and became music video pioneers during the rise of MTV. With hits like “Stray Cat Strut,” “Sexy and Seventeen,” and “Rock This Town,” The Stray Cats helped shape the sound of rock and roll, with “Rock This Town” earning its place as one of the 500 most important songs in rock according to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

From appearing on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine to performing on Saturday Night Live and touring with the Rolling Stones, Rocker has seen it all. He has shared the stage with music legends such as George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Willie Nelson, Leon Russell, and John Fogerty. A true innovator, Rocker was also part of a rare Grammy achievement when both he and his father, Stanley Drucker (a classical clarinetist), were nominated for Grammy Awards in 1982—an honor that has only occurred twice in Grammy history.

In addition to his work with The Stray Cats, Rocker’s Broadway appearance in the musical Million Dollar Quartet and his 2014 induction into the Bass Player Hall of Fame are just a few highlights in his illustrious career. With numerous honors, including being inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame and the Long Island Music Hall of Fame, Lee Rocker is widely recognized for his contributions to music and the arts.

Known for his virtuosic bass playing, Lee Rocker’s concert performances are a whirlwind of energy, complete with his signature upright bass spins, tosses, and acrobatics that make the instrument look effortless. His show is a celebration of rock, roots, and rockabilly music, where fans are treated to classic Stray Cats hits as well as stories from his legendary career. From the highs of international tours to the challenges of lugging his giant bass around the world, Rocker shares a personal and exhilarating experience with every audience.
