Paris, Tenn.–Paris Police Chief Ricky Watson has issued the department’s annual reminder of safety rules governing the World’s Biggest Fish Fry Grand Parade, set for 10 a.m. Friday. The parade route is the same as other recent years, beginning at the East Wood Church of Christ and moving down East Wood Street to the fairgrounds.
The biggest change this year concerns parking on the parade route. Parking is no longer allowed on the south side of the parade route from Tyson Avenue east bound to Fairgrounds Road. This only applies to vehicles that used to park on the roadway of East Wood Street.
Watson said, “We Welcome everyone to this year’s festivities and encourage everyone to enjoy themselves and take advantage of all the Fish Fry has to offer. That being said, there are still a few safety concerns that need to be addressed for everyone to get the most enjoyment while staying as safe as possible. As in year’s past there are concerns that we will address about safety for all attendees:”
- Parking is no longer allowed on the south side of the parade route from Tyson Avenue east bound to Fairgrounds Road. This only applies to vehicles that used to park on the roadway of East Wood Street.
- If you are parking on private property or on one of the business parking lots, please ensure that you have permission from the property owner or manager.
- Make sure that Private Drives and Intersections remain clear
- Leave your Cell Phone Number on your dash when you park. If there is a problem, we will attempt to call you prior to towing the vehicle
- No bikes, ATV’s, skateboards, skates, mini bikes, etc. on route unless part of the parade or authorized (i.e. Jaycees, EMS, Rescue Squad, and Law Enforcement)
- No pets of any kind allowed on the parade route unless part of the parade
- No throwing of any items from the parade entrants, entrants may walk items out to the spectators if desired.
- No Poppers or other firework type of device will be sold or thrown on the parade route.
- Please no Drone flights during the parade. There may be a few commercial drones flown in the area associated with the parade.
- Vendors must have a permit to sell on parade route.
- Backpacks and coolers are subject to be checked for content on the route.
- Parade entrants must be in possession of a valid Driver’s License.
We would like to personally thank everyone for their cooperation and courtesy in these matters and we look forward to another great World’s Biggest Fish Fry Grand Parade, Watson said.
