Broken Transmission Lines Cause Lake-Area Power Outage

bpu-outage-by-lake

Paris, Tenn.–Some 4,000 customers were without power in the lake area due to a tree falling and breaking two transmission line poles. The Paris Board of Public Utilities is working on restoring everyone’s power.
As of 7:27 AM, BPU provided this update:
As you can see from the photo, a fallen tree has broken two transmission line poles that resulted in a total of 4,000 people without power initially. By backfeeding circuits, the majority of customers will be back on. Pole repair will take a minimum of 4 hours, and possibly longer. Those who will remain out of power throughout the repair, will be customers between Hart’s Fish Market and Security Bank along Highway 79 North. Thank you for your understanding and patience as our men work safely to repair the damage.
