Trenton, Tenn.–Peabody Head Football Coach Shane Jacobs has announced he is resigning as Coach of the Golden Tide. He has met with the team, faculty and Booster Club to notify them. Jacobs said he is leaving coaching altogether and has no plans to look for a coaching job at another school.
In a statement, Jacobs said: “This position has been the honor and privilege of a lifetime. I am eternally grateful for the trust this community and its parents placed in me and our coaches with the responsibility of our players. The support I have received from this community—my family and this program—over the last 13 years has been nothing short of remarkable. There is no better place to coach high school football in West Tennessee than in Trenton.”
Under Jacobs, the team won three straight state championships. He has coached Peabody since 2015.
