Buchanan, Tenn.–In the midst of last night’s storms, the Paris Landing Fire Department and Henry County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 419 Swan Loop in Buchanan for a structure fire. A lightning strike is the suspected cause.
The call was a dangerous one, with all the lightning and wind and firefighters took most of the night to get everything dried out and cleaned up.
The call came in at 9 p.m., and arriving units found a metal garage/workshop burning with heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure.
Chief Reggie Coles said Owners Mr and Mrs. Pete White said they thought they heard a noise and discovered the fire when they went outside. The fire was extinguished with no injuries.
The building and contents suffered moderate to severe damage. Damage is estimated at $75,000.00.
