
Cottage Grove, Tenn.–Cottage Grove Fire Chief John Weiher III was the man of the hour last night at the Fire Department’s annual Community Meal and Meeting.
He was presented a plaque for in honor of his ’50 Consecutive Years of Service’ to the Cottage Grove community. He also was presented the Loyal Patriot Award, which is the highest award that can be bestowed on a private citizen in Henry County. With County Mayor Randy Geiger at last night’s County Commission meeting, the award was presented by Emergency Management Agency Director Ron Watkins.
A large crowd was on hand and included community members and some special guests, including Henry County 911 Director Mark Archer.
Firefighters said, “Thank you Chief Weiher for these many years of service and dedication! We look forward to many more years to come! A special thank you to everyone who came out tonight to the meeting, our special guests, Chief’s family/children and grandchildren, and all the community members, we thank you ALL for your support! We hope to have another great year serving our community.”
