Paris, Tenn.–It was big day for the World’s Biggest Fish Fry as the Paris-Henry County Jaycees placed a sign on its very first permanent headquarters Monday afternoon.
This is the 72nd year for the Fish Fry but its headquarters changes most every year, with Dinkins Mobile Homes always donating the use of one of its trailer homes for the Jaycees to use.
The permanent headquarters is located at 711 E. Wood St. (across from the East Wood Church of Christ) and the sign was created by Abbott’s Printing. The building was most recently the home of the Escape Day Spa and includes several rooms which can be used as a showroom for merchandise, office space and storage.
Jaycee Monte Starks said the group has been working toward this for some time and are excited with the possibilities that a permanent headquarters will bring. “We can have it open more than just one week a year and have our merchandise available for the public at other times, too,” he said. “I think people will really like that.” Merchandise includes t-shirts, hats, fish beads and more.
The official headquarters grand opening and ribbon-cutting will be at 10 a.m. Saturday March 29. The Jaycees invite everyone to come. “Celebrate this exciting milestone as we kick off one of Henry County’s most beloved traditions. Don’t miss the chance to be part of the festivities and show your support for this iconic event.”
