
Nashville, Tenn.–The Henry County High School Special Olympics basketball team have come back with GOLD medals from the State Special Olympics Basketball Tournament at Lipscomb University.
Assistant Coach Jammie Adkisson said this was the first year for HCHS to take a team to the state tournament and everyone is proud of what they accomplished.
“They played Friday and Saturday, three games total,” she said. “They won all three games, including the championship game.”
Head coach was Rodney Littleton (the SRO at Henry School) and Adkisson was Assistant Coach and is also the Henry County Director of Special Populations.
The Athletes are Zayne Kendall (Team Captain), Ladreaques Sneed, Javon Hartzfeldt, Jimmy Holt, Jason Blue, Kaylie Tull, Mark Tull, and Brody Crews.
Yvette Arnold Littleton filmed, drove and helped chaperone. Adkisson also thanked Carey Walker Bell and Kimmi Dicus Stevens for spending time with the athletes while cheering them to victory and thanked Tonya Hilliard and Wendell Sturdivant for supporting the team.
