Paris, Tenn.–With $114,170 raised today, the year-t0-date total for the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction is now at $487,890–and there is one more day to go.
As today’s auctioneer Amy Veazey put it, “We’re knocking on the door of $500,000” for the year.
As we reported earlier today, there was a donation of $108,185 even before the auction started this afternoon. That included a $100,000 donation from an anonymous person, as has become the custom toward the end of the Helping Hand Auction the last few years. The other donations to start the day came from the New Hope Baptist Church in Clifty; the Van Dyke Church of Christ and the Dana Foundation.
In addition to the monetary donations today, there were 18 slates of items are auctioned off from Lakeway Village; Mineral Wells Animal Clinic, and the Van Dyke/Routon community.
Wednesday is the last day for the 2025 auction, and as is customary, it’s Open To Anyone Day. All of the auctioneers take turns at the mike. The auction begins at 12:30 and you can watch it on the Helping Hand website and listen on our station WHNY 104.7 FM/AM 1000. Or you can come to the Paris Convention Center and watch in person.
