New Johnsonville, Tenn.–Turn Around, Don’t Drown!
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency posted these photos taken on Paint Rock Rd in New Johnsonville, where floodwaters have overtaken parts of the roadway. The gravel parking lot shown is actually a boat ramp on Tennessee National, which is also underwater.
Water levels are at their peak, but conditions remain dangerous. Flooded roads can be deeper and stronger than they appear—it only takes a few inches of water to sweep a vehicle away!
For your safety and the safety of first responders: Do not attempt to drive through flooded roads. If you see water covering the roadway, turn around, don’t drown!
