
Cottage Grove, Tenn.–The Cottage Grove Volunteer Fire Department was called out around 6:15 a.m. today for a structure fire on Church St. in Cottage Grove. The home was a total loss. No one was injured.
Fire Chief John Weiher said the cause is not yet known and is being investigated.
Five trucks and 15 firefighters responded to the scene. Firefighters were on scene for 5 1/2 hours to make sure all hotspots were extinguished.
A BIG thank you to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office & Como/Ore Springs Fire Department for assisting. Also thank you to a few of the community members that helped stretch hose to the road to hook to the fire hydrant.
