mck-taproom

McKenzie, Tenn. — West Tennessee Brewing is proud to announce the opening of its first satellite taproom in downtown McKenzie, with an anticipated opening date of March 15, 2025.

This family friendly space, located at 27 Broadway, is set to become a community hub, blending the best of locally inspired food, seasonally craft beers, and a vision to reinvigorate rural downtowns in Northwest Tennessee.

The taproom will feature craft beers brewed by West Tennessee Brewing, including small-batch seasonal offerings made with locally sourced ingredients, alongside a curated menu of hot sandwiches, paninis, flatbreads, and unique items. With seating for approximately 50 people, the space promises to be a cozy, inviting spot for locals and visitors alike.

Plans are also in the works to expand into the neighboring building, potentially adding an indoor lawn game event space designed to be enjoyed by all ages.

If you’ve been to downtown McKenzie, you’ve probably noticed the fresh new look on the front façade, which owners credited to Wolfgang Rackl, Shawn Burkhart and Tracy Miller,

Co-owner Anne-Marie Tanner of Paris who also co-owns Paris Station, a 23,000-square-foot indoor lawn, restaurant, event space, and brewery in downtown Paris sees the opening as a vital step toward revitalizing the region’s small downtowns. “It’s critical for business owners to reinvest in our rural downtowns,” Tanner said. “Revitalization provides immediate benefits like food and beverage options, jobs, and economic development for downtown communities. But it also has a ripple effect—driving tourism dollars into the area and increasing traffic to other small businesses. A rising tide lifts all ships, and our goal is to create a network of restaurants/taprooms throughout Northwest Tennessee that celebrates local culture and supports regional growth.”

West Tennessee Brewing’s mission is deeply rooted in bringing people together. By connecting agriculture, food, beverage, and the culinary arts, the taproom aims to serve as a gathering place where community spirit thrives.

As McKenzie continues its efforts to attract tourism and business, the addition of West Tennessee Brewing’s taproom underscores the potential of reinvesting in rural areas to bring new life to historic downtowns.
