Henry County High School regrets to announce that the newly hired head football coach, JR Kirby, has made the decision to resign from the position. Coach Kirby has decided to stay home in Covington.
Principal Michele Webb said in a press release, “While this change comes unexpectedly, our commitment to our student-athletes and football program remains strong. We had an exceptional pool of candidates during the hiring process, Our administration is actively working to fill the position as soon as possible.”
As soon as the new head coach has been named, they will promptly notify the players, families, and the community. “We appreciate your patience and support during this transition period and look forward to an exciting and successful football season ahead,” she said.
