
Barbara Ann Steeley, 84, of Dover, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord Monday, April 22, 2024.
Ann was born Wednesday, March 20, 1940, in the Cub Creek Community, daughter of the late Paul and Ethel Norfleet Atkins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Charles, Reams, and William; and sisters: Margaret and Frances.
Around the age of 2, her family moved to Tharpe in the Land Between the Lakes, where she spent most of their childhood before moving to Spouts Springs area as a teenager.
She met the love of her life, John, and they married in Corinth, Mississippi, Saturday, August 17, 1957. Together they raised five children.
Her greatest joy was being a homemaker, cooking and sewing.
She worked various jobs outside the home and retired from Key Industries.
Ann was a people-person and enjoyed working at the Home Place 1850 Farm for several years before finally retiring.
She and John loved their Dover neighborhood and neighbors.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years: John Steeley; children: Kathy Webb, Rita Royals (Jay), Richard Steeley (Kristi), Lori Brandon (Robin), and Michelle Sills (Bryan); grandchildren: Kyle Webb, Karee Epps, Kelsey Grimes, Lorin Walls, Megann Fair, Andria Fuller, Emily Sills, Ethan Brandon, Shelby Steeley, and Shayna Steeley; great-grandchildren: Talan, Tanner and Marlee Epps, Adalyn, and Adrien Lancaster, Rylie and Zane Walls, Hadley Fair and Peyton Bruno, Erik, Harper, and Teagan Grimes.
A visitation will be held at Anglin Funeral Home Chapel Friday, April 26, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronald Burgess officiating.
Burial will follow at Stewart County Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Bryan Sills, Robin Brandon, Kyle Webb, Ethan Brandon, Adrien Lancaster, Jay Royals, and Mike Futrell.
Honorary pallbearers are nurses and staff of Dover Care Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Mt. View Cumberland Presbyterian Church Youth Group.
