John Garrett of Union City has won the 2024 Lowrance Bassmaster Elite with 84 pounds, 5 ounces. His catch of 7 pounds, 4 oz. on the last day of the tournament cemented it for him.
The Bassmaster Elite is at Harris Chain of Lakes in Leesburg, Fla., and was streamed live, with many people from the area watching and rooting for Garrett.
Garrett is a graduate of Obion County Central High School and was a member of the Bethel University Bass Cats fishing team under the coaching of Garry Mason of Springville.
He is married to Morgan Garrett and are parents of a little girl.
