K9 Duke & Handler Find Runaway Youth In Below Freezing Temperatures

Marshall County, Ky.–Thanks to K9 Duke and his handler Holly Andrews, a 16-year-old who ran away from home was found in below freezing temperatures Thursday night.

At approximately 10:45PM Thursday January 4th, Marshall County Rescue Squad was paged out to assist the Marshall County KY Sheriff’s Office in the search for a 16-year-old young man that had fled from his home.

With the below freezing temperatures time was of the essence. Marshall County Rescue Squad was assisted in the search by West Marshall Fire DepartmentLedbetter Fire and Rescue drone team and Four Rivers K9 Search, Rescue and Recovery Team. McCracken County Rescue was enroute when fortunately the young man was located in the vicinity of his home by K9 Duke and his handler Holly Andrews along with members of the marshallcountyrescuesquad.

Marshall County officials said, “We can not express our gratitude enough for all of the agencies and people that pulled together to locate this young man!! Marshall County Ambulance Service was on scene to make sure the young man had not experienced hypothermia or any other wounds. Thank you to Marshall County 911 for getting us to the scene in a timely manner!”
