Union City, Tenn.–Students in the Union City Schools System will enjoy two meals a day at no cost beginning Thursday when they return to classes following the holiday break.
Free lunches for all students will be provided as part of the Community Eligibility Provision that permits the school district to provide the services. Students already receive free breakfast at UC Schools.
The free-lunch benefit will be in place for the next 3 ½ years, according to Director of Schools Wes Kennedy.
Kennedy also said that students with money already deposited in their lunch accounts would receive full refunds at the end of the 2023-24 school year.
As always, the monthly lunch menu can be found on the school website at tornadotouch.net.
