Paris, Tenn.– Local Law Enforcement and school officials at Inman School in Paris have been busy this morning conducting an “Intruder drill” at the school.
Paris Police organized the drill in conjunction with the Paris Special Schools District to better train both officers who respond to such incidents, and school employees who may be faced with such an incident.
This drill was done in compliance with the State of Tennessee grant that helps to pay for School Resource officers in the local schools.
Police Chief Ricky Watson wants the public to know that there is no threat to the school or public at this time and these drills are an important aspect of training to better respond to crisis.
He said, “We would also like to thank the agencies who assisted us in conducting this drill, the Paris Special School District, the Henry County Sheriff’s office, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Henry County 911, Paris Fire department, and Henry County EMS.”
