Search For Man Who Disappeared From Tennessee River Bridge Continues

Marshall County, Ky.–The search for a man who disappeared off the top of the Tennessee River Bridge in Marshall County continues.
Marshall County Rescue Squad has been leading a search on the Tennessee River and the shoreline which consisted of countless hours on land and water for a missing person. Marshall County Reacue Squad was assisted by McCracken County Rescue – United States Coast Guard – Four Rivers K9 Search, Rescue and Recovery TeamMarshall Co Emergency Management Agency.
The American Red Cross ARC of Western Kentucky is thanked for purchasing food and drinks for the teams as they endured the harsh winter weather temperatures on the river and shoreline and thanks to the Marshall County Responders Support for helping out with preparation and things needed for support.
Marshall County Rescue Squad officials said, “Thank you to those that came to provide assistance for this daunting task. Our prayers go out to those that are seeking answers and hope that they may come.”
As was reported previously, deputies were called to the I-24/Tennessee River bridge a little after 9 p.m. Tuesday night on a report of a barefoot man walking in the westbound lane. When deputies arrived, they saw him laying in the roadway at the top of the bridge, but when they turned around to go to him, the man was gone.

Search and rescue began immediately, again with no sign of him.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office said today they are searching for 41-year-old Wesley Augustine of Gilbertsville. Augustine was last seen wearing a red t-shirt, dark sweatpants and was barefoot.

He is described as being six foot four in height, weighing 175 pounds.
