
Martin, Tenn. – Celebrating and remembering 2023 is the theme of a new special year-end program that will be airing on West TN PBS WLJT-TV 11 as the year ends and 2024 begins. West TN PBS Remembers 2023 brings together all the on-air hosts of the biggest shows on WLJT from the past year as they share their memories from the programs and events from across West Tennessee.
The new program begins airing on December 27 at 10pm on Channel 11 and will air on New Year’s Day and throughout January. Hosted by West TN PBS General Manager and CEO Peter Noll, the station revisits the Jackson Mayoral Election and the station’s two forums that brought together the candidates. The Jackson Posts’ Brandon Shields and Julia Ewoldt look back at the race, candidates, and results.
“This has been an incredible year of local programming on WLJT as we have showcased the cities and people of West Tennessee,” according to Peter Noll, West TN PBS General Manager & CEO, “We wanted to remember and lookback as these great moments with the hosts who shared these events with our viewers.”
The events the program looks back on include the World’s Biggest Fish Fry Parade in Paris, Humboldt’s West Tennessee Strawberry Festival Grand Floats Parade, the Jackson International Food & Arts Festival, and others. Other on-air hosts joining the program include; Newstalk 101.5’s Julie Cooke, Jackson Energy Authority’s Steve Bauer, Steve Beverly, and Betty Langley. They share their favorite moments and feelings from the biggest local programs on WLJT in 2023.
The 1-hour program is also streaming on the PBS App, westtnpbs.org and on West TN PBS’ Youtube Channel.
