Paris, Tenn.–The Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge and The Parisian Theater are teaming up to talk about “Migration”! The Illumination movie which started last Friday in theaters portrays a family of mallards that gets a bit lost during their south bound migration and end up in New York City. Following this hilarious movie, the refuge is seeking to showcase the real migration happening at the refuge this winter.
A Ranger guided bird tour will be held on Saturday, December 30th at 10:00 am at the Refuge Visitor Center. Following a brief waterfowl identification program, the public will be invited to tour an adjacent bay to see tens of thousands of migratory waterfowl, as well as eagles, sandhill cranes, pelicans and other wildlife.
While you are at the refuge, pick up a copy of the Junior Duck Stamp Passport activity booklet. The refuge will stamp it for use to get 1 free small popcorn when you buy an admission to any movie at the Parisian Theater!
A booth about the refuge will be in place at the Parisian Theater for the entire run of the movie. Pick up information about the refuge, mallards, migration as well as copies of the Junior Duck Stamp activity booklet. Refuge rangers and “Puddles” the big blue goose will be on hand at the Parisian Theater for Saturday, Dec. 30th matinee movie to greet you personally.
