
Paris, Tenn.–The remains that were found near Russell Street in Paris December 8 have been positively identified by the Tennessee State Medical Examiner’s office.
The identity is confirmed to be that of Ernie M. Oskey, formerly of Murray, Kentucky. Evidence gathered from the scene, and during the course of our investigation, indicates that the cause of death was suicide and that Oskey took his own life sometime late in July of this year.
The next of kin has been notified and Police Chief Ricky Watson said the police department wishes to thank the Tennessee State Medical Examiner’s office, the Henry County Coroner’s office, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for their assistance in bringing closure to this tragic situation.
