
Paris, Tenn.–Tentative identification of the human remains found last week in Paris has been made.
Paris Police Chief Ricky Watson said the Paris Police, along with Henry County Coroners Office, the TBI and the Tennessee Medical Examiners office have been working diligently to identify the human remains that were found by a couple walking in a wooded area near Russell Street December 8.
Based on the evidence found, tentative identification has been made and investigators are working with the family on positive identification.
Watson thanked the agencies and investigators for their hard work and dedication to identifying the subject and bringing closure to the family. More information will be released as it is available. Watson said there is no threat to the public.
