ck-2023-cops

Paris, Tenn.–Two hundred and forty children were treated to a Christmas shopping excursion Saturday as part of the annual Cops & Kids shopping trip. This year, each child could spend $100 on Christmas presents and they received a lot of other goodies, too.

The shopping trip began at Paris Elementary School where the children were teamed with a shopping guide then driven to Wal-Mart Supercenter for their Christmas shopping spree.

When the children returned to PES, they received a bag with fruit, breakfast items and other goodies.

Santa arrived at the school and greeted the children before and after shopping.

Fraternal Order of Police President and retired Paris Police Chief Chuck Elizondo saidd, “Henry County has stepped up again and provided generous donations to increase the shopping amount to $100. This year the children could buy a bicycle to take home. We are truly blessed when we have a hundred volunteers step up and help the children of this great community.”

The trip is sponsored each year by the Fraternal Order of Police Tennessee-Kentucky Lake Lodge 17.
