Union City, Tenn.–Keaten Brown will put on his gold helmet with the purple ‘UC’ one final time.

The Union City senior quarterback will participate in the 10th annual Sports Plus West Tennessee All Star game Saturday at Crockett County High School to effectively end his prep playing career.

A two-time 1,000-yard rusher for the Tornadoes, Brown was selected for the honor by a committee that considered coaches’ nominations from across the area.

Brown accounted for 138 total points and 25 touchdowns for UC in its recently-completed 9-4 campaign – 23 of those scores while rushing for 1,199 yards. He ran for more than 100 yards in a game six times, many of those coming vs. the Twisters’ toughest competition.

A powerful runner with good speed, the 6-1, 210-pound Brown averaged nearly seven yards per carry and never missed a significant snap through 13 games. He also threw for 302 yards and two TDs.

Brown rushed for 1,137 yards as a junior, and both of his 1,000-yard seasons ranked in the Top 30 in UCHS program history.

Brown also shined at linebacker, finishing with 50 tackles, which ranked third on the team.

Kickoff for Saturday night’s game is set for 7 p.m. at CCHS.
