Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Dunning, 83, of McKenzie, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Mrs. Dunning was born Friday, February 23, 1940, in McKenzie to the late Jamie and Jeffie Palmer. She is also preceded in death by her brother: Jimmy Palmer.
She worked for many years in advertisement sales with area radio stations.
Sunday, October 19, 1958, she married Delmer Dunning. The two were married for 65 years. Saturday, December 2, 2023, they departed this world, only hours apart, and entered Heaven’s Gates hand-in-hand.
She is survived in death by her daughter: Kim (Hoppy) Johnsonius, of McKenzie, Tennessee; four grandchildren: J.C. (Lacey) Johnsonius, Elizabeth (Zach) Price, Olivia (Keenan) Bannon, and Katy Johnsonius; and eight great-grandchildren: Casey, Ross, Noah, Sophie, Easton, Abby, Oliver, and Harper.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. Bro. Billy Hollingsworth will be officiating. Interment to follow in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m.
