Chattanooga, Tenn.–The McKenzie Rebels were defeated 14-7 by South Pittsburgh Friday afternoon in a hard-fought battle between two former state champions. The Rebels were not able to be back-to-back champs at the TSSAA Class 1A contest in Chattanooga. South Pittsburgh was able to overcome losing its quarterback to an ankle injury in the third quarter (and scored in the next play) after the game stretched on at 0-0 for three quarters.
