
Murray, Ky.–At 5:29 PM Thursday, the Murray Police Department responded to a two-vehicle injury collision at the intersection of South 12th Street and Peggy Ann Drive. Both vehicles involved in the collision were deputies with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office who were en route to assist the Henry County Sheriff’s Office as they were in pursuit of a violent felony suspect that was heading towards Kentucky.
Officers learned that Deputies Nick Hopkins and Daniel Burgdolf were traveling south on 12th Street when Deputy Nick Hopkins started to turn left to prepare for the pursuit.
Deputy Burgdolf was traveling behind him and was unable to avoid striking the other vehicle.
All deputies were transported to the Emergency Room by EMS for treatment of possible injuries. The Murray Police Department was assisted on scene by the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, Murray Fire Department, and the Murray Calloway County Ambulance Service.
As reported yesterday, the suspect being chased was from Decatur County and is now in custody.
