Paris, Tenn.–Thanks to the escort from the Paris Fire Department and Paris Police, Santa Claus made it all the way from the North Pole to downtown Paris Friday. A very LONG line of kids and adults awaited the arrival of Santa for his annual North Pole Family Fun Day, which is centered around his house on the courthouse lawn. There were trackless train rides through downtown and something new this year–Santa Sleigh Rides–as well as the Festival of Trees, all free. Santa will be in his house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and 2-4 p.m. Sundays through the holidays and the Festival of Trees (right across the street on Washington) will be open Monday through Friday from noon to 3 p.m.; Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sundays 1 to 4 p.m. Shannon McFarlin photo.
