
Paris, Tenn.–Billowing smoke could be seen for miles around at Sunday afternoon’s dumpster and trash fire at the 501K Recycling Center in Paris.
Paris Firefighters were called to 1580 Industrial Park Rd. at 2:40 p.m. and stayed on the scene until 4:44 p.m. as the fire was quickly extinguished. There was heavy fire on the loading dock outside the business as firefighters arrived. According to the report, the fire spread to the nearby dumpster and firefighters were able to keep it from spreading to anything else.
Paris Firefighters used 6,500 gallons of water and 15 gallons of foam.
Both Fire Marshal Greg Andrews and the Paris Police investigators were called to the scene and the investigation into the cause still is ongoing.
No injuries were reported. Mutual aid was provided by the Henry Volunteer Fire Department.
