
Henry, Tenn.– It was all about the ducks today at Henry Elementary School, as the school continues its participation in the national Junior Duck Stamp competition. Winners were announced this morning and Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge Ranger Brittany Smith said Henry Elementary is the first school to have 100 percent participation in the competition.
The overall “Best in Show” winner is Kyleigh Vogl, who competed in the 4th-6th grade bracket.
For the past several weeks, Teacher Valerie Godina’s art students have been working extremely hard designing, refining and putting the finishing touch on their Jr. Duck Stamp entries as part of the 2020 Jr. Duck Stamp competition.
Principal David Kibbler said Henry School had over 220 entries and out of those 220 entries, 90 will advance to the state competition. Judges were Ranger Joan Howe, Kibbler and Director of Schools Dr. Leah Watkins.
